Praying and Fasting for America 🇺🇸
Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus!
Today, many Christians all over the world begin a focused time of prayer and fasting for America. The election is in just 39 days, and without sounding like a talking head political pundit, it has tremendous implications for the future of our nation. All you have to do is scan the news headlines or watch what is happening in our cities.
America was founded by men and women who sought God wholeheartedly. His divine intervention has been seen time and time again throughout our nation’s history. The very foundation of America was built upon Scriptural principles. But, “if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3).
There is tangible angst in America right now. People are fed fear on a daily basis by those exploiting Covid-19. Unrighteous people have seized this opportunity to wreak havoc on society and assault the Church of Jesus Christ. I personally know of innocent people being viciously attacked while walking the streets of their hometown… Christians being arrested for simply singing praises to God in the public square… and pastors being arrested for the audacity to honor God and His Word and open their churches to hurting people. The racial tension and political division in America have escalated to a point where it seems it is untenable.
What can the righteous do?
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
America must have the supernatural intervention of God. There is a plot, over two years in the making, that is being executed right now to try and steal the election. I do not watch the news (we purposefully do not even have a cable or satellite subscription), and I am not regurgitating something I read somewhere. This comes directly from my prayer closet. God hates unbalanced weights and measures (Proverbs 20:23)! He detests cheaters and manipulated scales!
But there is great news! If God’s people will pray, the enemy will be ensnared in the very trap that he set for others (Psalm 9:15). Would you take time every day and spend time in focused prayer and intercession for America? This is not a political fight and it extends into the unseen realm of light and darkness. Let us agree together for the perfect will of God in the election and for America to remain a nation raised up, and sustained, by the mighty hand of God.
A note on fasting: Prayer, combined with fasting, is a powerful spiritual weapon. I am personally fasting all food through the election. Most people are just fasting from 6 am to 6 pm every day. Young people, pregnant mothers, the elderly, and those with health or work concerns, are modifying their fast as appropriate. If you are not experienced with fasting and need some help or guidance, I am happy to help you. Fasting is one of the great, but most often neglected, spiritual tools that God has given His people.
To all of our friends and partners around the world, please hear my heart. This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the Word of the Lord. God gave me an instruction to use my platform to move the Church to pray for the election. After November 3rd, I will be glad to return my 100% focus back to our core mission: winning the lost, strengthening the Church, and demonstrating His mighty power. 😁
